Womans Club of Chipley Celebrates 90 Years of Excellence With New Event

Celebrating 90 years of service to the community, and proud of their name and their heritage, the Womans Club of Chipley has been a strong force in the social and business community of Chipley for a long time.  Longer, in fact, than any single member can remember.

 Although best known for the annual Bridal Expo, the club will execute a new event this year, featuring Kirby Holt and Blossoms Floral and Gift Boutique at the Washington County Agricultural Center on October 11.  Holt will demonstrate several themes for holiday parties, based on national cultures, and titled Decorating For Entertaining.

Tickets are ten dollars per person and Holt will share his decorating expertise in a fun-filled 2 hour presentation featuring eight party themes from Mexican and Chinese dinner parties to baby showers and a 50th Anniversary celebration.  Holt, who is the areas leading decor professional and a member of the prestigious American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) is considered one of the elite of the floral design industry and this group provides floral decor for the Academy Awards, the Rose Parade, Presidential Inaugural Balls, and many other high profile events. 

Holt and his team bring a high level of excellence to the services they provide and locally, Blossoms, Holts showcase, has provided the floral decor for many annual social and business events including the Society Gala, Gulf Coast Community College annual banquet, and most recently the Panama City Beach Chamber annual awards dinner. 

Holt is also the preferred decor vendor for many area resorts and teaches floral design across the county, presenting educational seminars for both professionals of the floral industry and the public.  His holiday decorating seminar for the Gulf Coast Womens Club has become an annual event which raises money for their scholarship fund and inspires hundreds of attendees.  

Holt has made a weekly guest appearance on the Morning Show for CBS affiliate WTVY in Dothan Alabama for the past ten years and show host Ann Varnum names him as one of her favorite guests and feels privileged to call him a friend.
